About Peoples Lawyers Forum (PLF)
Peoples Lawyers Forum (PLF) was established as the legal wing of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) with the purpose of bringing together legal professionals committed to the principles of constitutional democracy, rule of law, fundamental rights, and social justice. From its inception, PLF has served as a platform for lawyers who believe in democratic values and seek to strengthen constitutional institutions through their professional and legal contributions.
The foundation of PLF is closely connected with the political, constitutional, and democratic struggles associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party and its workers. During different periods of political uncertainty and repression, lawyers played an important role in defending constitutional rights, supporting democratic forces, representing political workers, and raising their voices for the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law. These collective efforts created the need for an organized legal platform through which lawyers could work together in support of democratic principles and constitutional freedoms.

Over the years, Peoples Lawyers Forum has developed into a broad-based legal organization with an expanding network of lawyers across Pakistan. Its organizational presence has extended to provincial, divisional, district, and tehsil levels, providing legal professionals with opportunities to coordinate, engage in organizational activities, and contribute to the broader democratic and legal discourse.
PLF continues to encourage its members to uphold professional integrity, constitutional values, human rights, and access to justice. Through its legal community, organizational activities, seminars, consultations, awareness initiatives, and engagement with important constitutional and social issues, the Forum seeks to strengthen the role of lawyers in promoting justice and democratic governance.

Our History
The history of Peoples Lawyers Forum is closely connected with the political and constitutional journey of Pakistan and the democratic struggle associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party.
During different periods of political uncertainty and repression, lawyers played a significant role in defending constitutional principles, democratic forces, political workers, and fundamental rights. Legal professionals stood at the forefront of important constitutional and political struggles, using their professional knowledge and legal expertise to support the rule of law and democratic values.
Peoples Lawyers Forum emerged as a platform for legal professionals sharing these democratic and constitutional values. Over the years, the Forum expanded its organizational presence and developed a network of lawyers at different levels, including provincial, divisional, district, and tehsil levels.
These efforts created the foundation for an organized legal platform through which lawyers could work collectively and effectively. Today, PLF continues to provide lawyers with a platform for professional coordination, legal engagement, constitutional awareness, and participation in matters concerning democracy, justice, and citizens' rights.
